contents page

This is a last draft of my contents page.

I have everything where i need it to be and just need to add a few more pieces of writing and adjust a few things.

I have changed it from my first draft as i have gone with a different image to be dominant and a different style.

I have also included the more organised look on the left side with my main articles being shown.

I have also added small previews of each main article, and a small picture for the most important one, the review of 'Frenzy'.

I have also added a image of my front cover on the bottom right corner and added a web address as is seen on most magazine pages, especially contents page.

I have kept with the black, white and red colours that have been used on my front cover and Double Pge Spread, this shows the certain ideas for my magazines 'House Colours'.

And the whole idea of keeping the pictures in black and white or greyscale has been carried on in this page.

With a few tweaks I hope that my magazine contents page will reach that of a proffesional one and therfore will show a more real contents page than my first draft did.

Double Page Spread

This is my draft of my Double Page Spread.

As you can see it is not finished yet as i have much more writing to add in, but i have settled with my review style, it is a question and answer format so the audience can get the necessary information about this new upcoming band.

I have my dominant image, which is the same as my front cover, this helps the reader realise that this is in fact the most important article of the issue, it is the dominant one.

I have the questions in red and the answers in white, this is to help the reader realise which is which and to separate them. The small pictures add up to help the reader or audience build a mental picture of this band.

I hope to edit this page so to have more writing and more organisation, I will also need to add the magazine name and web address somewhere to keep that style running throughout.

Front cover 2

This is my second draft for my front cover.

I have gone with a different approach this time with a much bolder picture here, with a low angle on it.

I have kept my idea of the black and white effect to add the feel of my magazine and especially this issue.

I have a colour scheme of Red, white and Black these colours are ones which i will carry throughout the magazine issue.

I have filled up the areas where before there where just blank spaces with things like the main articles and bands featured in the weeks issue. This has been done on the right side, an idea of the black and red i got from a issue of NME.

The top right corner shows something linked to this main article as it seems.

The main headline is trying to stand out and show the whole focus of this issue of 'REVERB'.

I have also included a strap line and a web address which i hope to include on all my pages as is done in the professional magazine.

Contents page first draft

This is my first draft contetns page.

As we can see it is very simple, it has the main articles on the left side, to show some organisation.

The image have used has been faded out so I can easily write on top of it, the main articles have pictures on the right side, these i have attempted to fade into the picture to make it seem like on big poster, this was my idea, to have the contents like a mind map of the issue.

I have kept with the black and white approach that i used on my front cover, to show continuous colour style and to provide a certain idea for my magazines house colours and style.

Magazine Front Cover

This is my first draft of my magazine front cover.

I have used a black and white photo to show my music style and Target audience, this shows the Indie side as it has the opposite idea to mainstream music where there would be huge colour.

I have stretched my Masthead across the top like THE FLY, and also done the same with my main cover story, i have added smaller storeys around the Central dominant image so there are no blank spaces.

I have included small details like price, barcode and issue and date, all to add a sense of authenticity.

My image is of someone i would associate with the music, and also someone who is recognisable to show a certain genre of it, also by using the instruments have really shown the music trying to be portrayed.

The smaller story's are things I believe are of interest to my target audience, such as gig guides and new upcoming bands which is something i wish my magazine to focus on, similar to THE FLY.
